The page proofs for Nimbus just landed in my desk, so I’m a bit busy this week, so rather than rushing to write a post I thought you might be interested in my book cover illustrations for the Rowankind trilogy, and how they turned out after the designers had turned them into the actual book covers. Sometimes I’ve looked at the initial images and wondered how on earth the designers (not the same people as the illustrator, Larry Rostant) were going to fit in the type, but they always do.
Enjoy.
What a beautiful set of covers, Jacey:)
Thank you. I really like them. DAW gave me the opportunity to suggest an artist and I love Larry Rostant’s work on historical fiction books. They were familiar with him but hadn’t used him for a while, however they were very happy to commission him for the trilogy.
How lovely that you were able to be so involved in the process of designing your own covers:). It’s something that doesn’t seem to happen all that often to traditionally published authors, though I’m lucky that Grimbold are fully including me in the design of my upcoming novel with them…
Yes, I didn’t expect it, but was delighted when it happened like that.
